TRIBUTE ARTISTS
ThOSE ULTIMATE u2 FANS WHO JOINED US ALONG THE WAY |

AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND & HAWAII
Matt Easter may be one of the most convincing tribute artists you will
ever see, and certainly the most accurate reflection of U2's Bono performing
today. Upon seeing him for the first time, people are always amazed by
his physical resemblance to the famous singer; but when they hear him
sing they actually find it hard to believe he's not Bono. At one recent
show, a member of the audience commented that he truly felt the 'spirit
of Bono' in the room during Matt's performance, and the power of this
statement led to a new name for his band: 'ONE and THE SPIRIT OF U2'.
A veteran teacher of 17 years and an accomplished musician in his own
right who had written his own original music as well as performing covers
of both Bono and Sting, Matt was 'discovered' on Jam Night at his local
bar. After dying his hair from its natural blonde and piercing his other
ear, Matt was fooling everyone with special appearances at bars in the
Greater Toronto Area and thrilling Karaoke bars with his true-to-life
impersonation of Bono.
From this modest beginning, he has gone on to become recognized as one
of the foremost Bono tributes in the world. As well as regular appearances
at the Niagara Fallsview Casino where he receives a huge response from
travelers from all over the world, Matt has recently made special appearances
in Montreal, Ottawa and at Toronto's Skydome. Performing in the Hard
Rock Café's 'Ultimate Jam' competition, he has placed in the finals
against some of the best musicians and performers in Canada.
Recent media appearances have included an interview by the BBC, interview
and live singing on Toronto's Q107, and photos in the Toronto Star and
hip mens' magazine UMM. Everywhere he goes in his performer's guise,
Matt is swarmed by eager Bono fans looking for a handshake, an autograph
or a couple of words from their idol.
Recently recovered from Thyroid cancer, Matt's personal energy is devoted
to his two year old twin boys Marc and Luke and in his spare time likes
to get out and ride his motorcycle.
Matt says that he can feel something special happen when he performs
U2's songs, and with the passion for life that he conveys so effectively
on stage, it's no wonder that audiences say they feel Bono's presence
when they hear him sing.
